Last night I did my accreditation so I can ride in the Monday night track league. It went well so hopefully I will have my bike built and be able to race next Monday.
I am doing this to try and improve my top end speed oh and for some fun :¬) Even last night I was caught out a few times and this was just training :¬0
It was my first time back on a track bike for quite a while and a bit of a shock pushing one gear either grinding or spinning very fast, my own bike will have a cadence sensor so afterwards I will be able to see HOW FAST my legs are spinning.
This morning though my quads are in bits so much so I am actually concerned I may have over cooked myself ahead of my weekends racing. I shall still be giving it everything mind you. Binned my training ride after 90 mins this morning as rest seemed a better idea.
Other cycling news, I broke my TT bike not slightly but written off. You spend weeks sorting position out finally get close then snap something and crack your frame. Life can be a bitch sometimes.
First LVRC race this Sunday, admit I am a little concerned that I will lack a little race sharpness. I had intended to head to Hillingdon just to have my legs ripped off a bit but this hasn’t happened so beyond my little bit of Scratch racing on Thursday I am going in very cold. That said thanks to the chaps at BanjoCycles and RacewareDirect I do have a lovely team bike to use.
Train smart and enjoy yourself.
you are already ahead from last year so I am looking forward to seeing the results. Good luck racing.
